It felt good to get that win at home, but we still got a lot of work to do. There were definitely improvements from last week, but we have to keep pushing. We have to keep progressing every week and this game was a good indicator of what we still need to work on.
Our defense was tough out there, by holding the Jags to only field goals. The young guys have been getting good experience and now the Offense has to step it up on our end to achieve that balance. We all have to get on the same page and keep improving as a team. Every week Eli and I develop our understanding a little bit more, which will translate to more completed connections on the field, and make those completions.
The offense made some good plays, but we need to carry that into the end zone and make sure we finish off drives. Happy to see James Jones come in and do work for us. He pulled in a bunch of passes and lead us on several drives. I think our receiving core is going to be solid heading into the season. We’ve been working hard at practice and once we get our chemistry going, I know this squad has a championship in it and that’s our goal.
We got the Jets on Saturday, which is always an interesting game. They've been known for years for being a solid team on defense, and the returns of Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie only make them stronger. It's going to be a good test for us as an Offense.
