Opened up our first game at Dallas last weekend. Whenever you play against the Cowboys you can expect a fight. And that is what they gave us. Tony Romo threw a pass with 7 seconds left for the touchdown and we lost 27-26. It was a really disappointing end but we have to learn from our mistakes and build upon them. You can’t dwell on the last minute play. There were a lot of opportunities throughout the game that we could have capitalized on and we wouldn’t have been in that situation. I think all phases could have played better. We had some great moments out there and we just need to continue improving every single day. We all learned from this game and know what adjustments we need to make in order to be better prepared for the Falcons.
They have some threats on offense and defense we need to be prepared for. They have a very strong passing game with quarterback Matt Ryan and Julio Jones at WR. He played well against the Eagles on Monday and he's definitely a guy I look at to learn from. Does everything right and makes plays for his team. On defense, they have a number of hungry guys that are looking to do damage. New head coach there and they'll be fired up from their win.
This week we're focusing hard on watching film and correcting mistakes. We made mistakes but know what we need to do in order to right them. We're putting in the necessary work this week in training in order to be the best prepared for Sunday. I can’t wait to get out there at MetLIfe in front of all you guys. This football team knows what it is capable of and we plan to show you. This is just the beginning.
