I had fun going against my boy Antonio Brown this week. He’s a guy that I respect the heck out of. He is one of the best in our game - on and off the field. I had a blast competing against him, but I wish the final score would have been different.
It was a hard fall for us to go from being on such a hot streak to falling flat on offense against the Steelers. They did a great job of game planning for us and taking away the strengths of this offense. We have to get back to a place where this offense is consistent and all of us can be clicking together. We have a good bit of work to do as we finish off practice this week.
We have to be on our absolute “A” game as we get ready for the Cowboys this week. There simply is no other team that is on a hot streak like they are right now. Their offense is adaptable and opportunistic - willing to take whatever the defense gives them. They anchor their offense with Ezekiel Elliott pounding the ball between the tackles. But if a defense stacks up against the run, they’ll air it out with Dak, Dez and Jason Witten.
Their defense is a solid unit that does not have many big names the average fan would know. Hear me out - these guys can ball. Sean Lee has an awareness and instincts that are hard to find in the NFL. Barry Church is the rare safety who can come up and thump in the turn game or he can turn a game around with his solid pass coverage. Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr are physical corners who thrive in knocking wide outs off their timing and disrupting the passing game.
We have a challenge this week as we go against the best team in the NFC. I know our offense is going to step up this week and put together a full game against the Cowboys. I can’t wait to against these guys in primetime at the Met. I can’t wait to see our place slammed full of Giants Nation for this game on Sunday!
