A few years ago, the Pro Bowl went from NFC versus AFC, to a fantasy-style draft. And this is exactly the reason why.
Former LSU teammates and best friends, Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., play on different teams during the regular season, but they're reunited in Hawaii this week for the Pro Bowl. Both players were selected to Team Rice by captain Jerry Rice, the first time they'll play on the same team since 2013 at LSU.
Opposing defensive backs have been forewarned.
Landry and Beckham paired to give LSU one of the best wide receiver duos in the country for three years. Week in and week out, they turned in ridiculous numbers with highlight-reel, one-handed grabs. And given the fact that the main objective of the Pro Bowl is to put on a show, the pair will look to do the same on Sunday.
Beckham will have his usual quarterback throwing him passes during the game, too. Eli Manning was taken first overall by Rice, so that's obviously an advantage for Team Rice.
This season was a record-breaking one for Landry and Beckham. Landry set a new record for the most receptions through two seasons (194), while Beckham has the most receiving yards (2,755) in the same span.
All eyes will be on this dynamic duo this week in Hawaii, and rightfully so. Don't be surprised if both go over 100 yards receiving and end up with two of the best catches in the game.
