news / Odell Beckham Takes Home His Third Kids Choice Award

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has had many great accomplishments in his NFL career just three years in. His stats say it all: 1,300-plus yards and double-digit touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.

Over the weekend, Beckham was selected as the recipient of the Hands of Gold honor at the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. The award is fitting for Beckham who is known for making amazing catches and putting together a highlight reel every time he goes out for pregame warmups.

Beckham was awarded the Hands of Gold award for the second straight year. This is also the third year in a row he came away with an award from the Nickelodeon’s award show. He won “Favorite Newcomer” in 2015.

Beckham certainly has a strong appeal to the younger generation. His impressive performances on the field, unique hairstyle and creative touchdown celebration may have something to do with that.

Beckham is improving year after year, and now entering his fourth NFL season, he may be poised for his best season yet.

After the Giants added weapons Brandon Marshall via free agency and Evan Engram with their first-round pick, defenses won’t be able to focus all their attention on Beckham. In fact, just last week USA Today ranked the Giants’ pass catchers as the best in the league.

Beckham’s popularity is undeniable, and there is a reason he had one of the top five selling jerseys the last two years. As Beckham continues his stardom on the field, his popularity will continue to grow among the kids.

After winning this year’s Hands of Gold award, Beckham proclaimed: “I just want to say to the kids, you guys are truly my inspiration for everything I do.”
